A look around the inn and the village
These are pictures of the building as it stands on Plymouth Road, the bar the village still uses, the rooms upstairs and the Dartmoor edge that starts a short walk from the front door. Nothing here is staged for the camera, which we think is the most useful thing about it.

The bar, and the street it opens onto
The bar takes up the front of the building, so the noise of the village and the noise of the inn tend to be the same thing. Step outside and South Brent is a working street of shops, cottages and hills at the end of the view.
Four rooms, photographed as they are
Twin, king, double and superior king. Each has tea and coffee-making facilities, a shower, a TV, a work desk and linens, and each is kept quiet enough that an early start on the moor never feels like a struggle.
The country the village looks out at
Dartmoor is not scenery you have to drive to from here. It begins at the end of the village and carries on for as long as your legs are willing, with granite, bracken and weather arriving in its own order.
